- זָנַקPi. זִינֵּק (b. h.) 1) to squirt, sputter, eject with force. Nidd.59b במְזַנֶּקֶת it means a woman discharging urin in a gush. Ḥull.38a זִינְּקָה the animals blood sputtered (when its jugular arteries were cut). Y.Yoma I, 39a bot. חוטמו מְזַנֵּק תולעים his nose discharging worms. 2) (to make a persons mouth water, to make a person sick by withholding from him a desired dish. Ex. R. s. 16, end אתם זִינַּקְתֶּם את בניוכ׳ ye made my children sick by withholding from them meat, when ye ate Hif. הִזְנִיק to drop, to pour. Y.Sabb.VIII, 11b bot. במַזְנִיק שני the Mishnah means when one uses pitch or sulphur in a liquid state.
